Primary Purpose:
Supervise children grades Pre-K-5 in after-school program and assure that each child is well cared for and safe.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and verbally communicate with children, staff, and parents
Ability to work with groups of children in a positive manner
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Effective organizational and communication skills
Ability to relate to children and adults with courtesy, respect, acceptance, compassion, and patience
Experience:
Some experience working with children preferred.
Requirements:
Ability to work overtime when requested.
Ability to work Monday through Friday from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm while school is in session.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct age-appropriate activities for children in care.
- Supervise and ensure safety and security of children in the building and to and from outside play areas.
- Greet and communicate with parents daily.
Other:
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency protocols.
- Participate in staff development training programs, meetings, and special events as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard classroom and office equipment such as toys, playgrounds, etc. Personal computer and printer.

Environment: Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise
