Job Title: DSISD Events Technician (Student Worker)
Rate of Pay: $12/hour
Reports to: Auditorium/Event Manager
Dept./School: High School / Middle School Campuses
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for the set-up and technical operations for events held at various DSISD Facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
Must be a current DSISD high school student
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to hook up microphones, patch and operate levels on soundboard
Ability to play music through sound system from various components
Ability to program cues, patch and operate the light board
Ability to manipulate curtains and other backstage headsets, etc.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions
Ability to instruct others
Experience:
Technical Theatre class work or related experience is required.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Essential Functions
- Set up all technical needs prior to the event start.
- Monitor patron entrance to the facility to ensure safety and professional demeanor.
- Assist with handicapped patrons.
- Operate lights/sounds/curtains during the event.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Assist with end of event strike.
- Assist with any emergency procedures.
Other
- Comply with policies and regulations established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
